Service for Sight Soiree & Labels Collection
We have an exciting opportunity to raise money for Service for Sight — collecting box tops & soup labels!
Box Tops for Education
Clip & save the boxtop (with the Boxtops for Education symbol) from participating products. The list of eligible products ranges from Ziploc bags to Huggies diapers and Cheerios cereal to Old El Paso taco dinners. Please do not staple box tops together.

Campbell’s Labels for Education
Clip & save the UPC code (not the entire label) from participating Campbell’s products. Please do not staple labels together. View the Campbell’s Labels for Education list of eligible products here. Click here to download a PDF of eligible Campbell’s products.
We are planning another Service for Sight Soiree for the Spring. The first was held in October 2010, when we modified books for visually-impaired students in the Gwinnett County School System. Members are encouraged to bring their collected box tops & labels to the event! The member with the most box tops and/or labels collected will be rewarded with a fun DG prize.
Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic Record-A-Thon
DG alumnae partnered with the Delta Iota collegians for “DG Day” at the Record-A-Thon in April 2009. The Delta Iota chapter and Athens DG Alumnae Group committed to staffing 8 recording booths for 3 hours. To achieve this goal, we needed a combination of 32 alumnae & collegian volunteers.
At the volunteer reception for the Georgia chapter of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, the final award of the evening was given to Delta Gamma! We received the award for the work done during the “DG Day” at the RFB&D Record-A-Thon. Thanks to the additional shifts worked by the Delta Gamma collegians and alumnae, the Record-A-Thon was able to hit its goal for number of books read. Our chapter also participated in 2010, and plan to assist future events as well!
Thank you to all who assisted with the Record-A-Thons. Thank you also to those who suggested integrating more Foundation work into the alumnae activities. This event was a direct result from your surveys. If you have more ideas, I encourage you to let us know.
Alumnae Group Board open leadership positions
Are you interested in serving the Athens DG Alumnae Group in a board position? We are currently looking for a vp: membership. This is a great position and requires only a few hours each month. If you are interested in taking this position, please e-mail president@athensdg.com
